Links Academy Performance Data

Academic Year 2015 – 2016 was a successful year for the Year 11 students at Links Academy.  In August 2016, 18 year 11 students left the Links Academy with qualifications that enabled them to access further education.

Progress had been made with 53% of students achieving five or more qualifications and 79% of students achieving four or more qualifications in 2015/16 compared to 41% of students achieving five or more qualifications and 65% of students achieving four or more qualifications in 2014/15.

There were successes for our most able disadvantaged students who achieved GCSEs at 4 Grade B’s and 1 Grade C including Maths, English and Science and 3 Grade C’s and 4 Grade D’s including Maths, English and Science.  These students have continued onto further education studying animal care and Level 3 BTEC Business at college as well as securing part time work.

SEND students achieved five qualifications and gained experience in the motor vehicle industry whilst at Links Academy which has enabled them to gain a college place on their motor vehicle course.

In Vocational courses including BTEC both at Level 1 and Level 2 there was a 100% pass rate.

At Links Academy we take a personalised approach to learning catering for the needs of all the students and therefore the disadvantaged students achieved in line with all students.  We also had successes in languages with a student gaining an ‘A’ in Spanish and ‘A*’ in Italian.

The Year 11 destinations for students 2015/16 included the following –

Oakland College courses in animal care, child care, business, multi trades, vehicle fitting, hair and beauty.  West Herts College to study sport.  Watford College to study Child Care.  Apprenticeships in hair dressing, construction and child care.  Sixth Form at a local secondary school
