Links Academy Performance Data
Academic Year 2018 – 2019 was a successful year for the Year 11 students at Links Academy. In August 2019, 21 year 11 students left the Links Academy with qualifications that enabled them to access further education.
Building on the progress made in 2017/18 Links Academy student success included 50% of students achieving seven or more qualifications, 61% of students achieving six or more qualifications and 83% of students achieving five or more qualifications in 2018/19.
There were successes for our most able disadvantaged students who achieved GCSEs at 4 Grade 3’s including Maths, English, Biology and History and Grade 5 in Maths and a Grade 3 in Biology. The students have continued onto further education joining West Herts College and following an apprenticeship. There was also successes for students with one gaining a Grade 4 in English Literature and two further students gaining a Grade 4 in Maths.
At Links Academy we take a personalised approach to learning catering for the needs of all the students and therefore the disadvantaged students achieved in line with all students.
The Year 11 destinations for students 2018/19 included the following –
Oaklands College courses in multi trades, plumbing, health and social care, equine studies, football academy, art and design and carpentry. West Herts College courses in ICT and welding. Apprenticeships in child care.
