‘A Character School’ is one where students are encouraged to have the following qualities empathy, self-regulation and ‘stickability’. These attributes will be as important to them as any formal qualifications that they may gain and will enable them to make more out of opportunities they are offered. To us to reinforce these values we have ‘theme of the week’ allowing the whole school to focus on areas within these three qualities with weekly assemblies and discussions to help everyone explore and understand them
We believe that by encouraging these characters within our community we can help everyone to succeed.
“The ultimate goal of all proper character education is to equip students with the intellectual tools to choose wisely of their own accord within the framework of a democratic society. Critical thinking is central to a well-rounded character.”
