World Book Day

World Book Day at Links Academy Friday 3rd March 2017

Staff are dressing as book characters. There is a reflective assembly where students and staff will share the impact and importance of a particular book on their life. This is followed by a visit from Giles Abbott, noted professional Storyteller.

Giles Abbott became a Storyteller in 1999, after a sudden and severe, but not total, sight loss in 1998. No longer able to read a book, Storytelling seemed perfect! Since then Giles has established a career for himself working in schools, theatres, arts centres, festivals all over the UK and internationally. He has won awards for his work and is the UK’s only professional blind storyteller.

The visit concludes with an informal chat time where students will be sharing the cakes they’ve made.
